If you don’t already know me, allow me to introduce myself! I am Meg Sanchez, Owner & CEO of Escape Party Planning. Before I was the owner of a growing event planning company, was many things: a ballerina, a university student, and a server to name a few.
A few facts about me: I grew up dancing my whole life (15+ years), I have a passion for and minors degree in Special Education and Rehabilitation, I have an amazing man who supports me endlessly, and my hobby of choice is getting my butt kicked in Jiu Jitsu!
After I received my degree in Business Management from the University of Arizona, I graduated into the midst of the 2020 pandemic. I had been laid off from a job I loved, working events with a JW Marriott, and as a new graduate I felt the harsh blow of a downturning economy and lack of job opportunity.
One day, after throwing my best friend a Baby Shower, her dad stopped me and said “I love my kids and grandkids so much, but I do not have the talent to throw together such great parties like you do. Sometimes these milestone events go by and we don‘t get to celebrate as well as I‘d like to have. You have a real act for this, you could do it for a living!”
You could say that was a bit of a light-bulb moment in my life. And after a year+ of working on Escape on the weekends, nights and sometimes out of the bathroom of my day job, that’s exactly what I did! I was able to purse my Event Planning business full-time!
Owning a business has taught me a lot of lessons.
Including that no one makes it alone! I wouldn’t be anywhere without the clients who put their trust in a small business, the workers who show up and deliver excellence, and the friends and family who remind me to be proud of the little victories.
I’m so grateful to be building a life I love and it wouldn’t be possible without each one you! Thank you to everyone who has supported me in one way or another throughout this journey. I am so excited for Escape to continue to grow and impact more lives as we celebrate our clients most cherished and special occasions!
